City of Lake - Thane


Thane is a large industrial assorted of engineering products, textiles and chemicals. Thane is situated at very closely to the capital city of the Maharashtra state as well as a large metropolis of Mumbai has being changed to Thane from a small town with some villages, to a big industrial city and a nearly a suburb for the folks of Mumbai. Thane has an awesome and long history proof of number of several different historical buildings such as a fort and churches. 


The Greek geographer names as Ptolemy, whose writing to refers to this place known as “Chersonesus”, which has according to researchers is the area around Thane creek. The name of Thane, which is means as a post or a station, has been received from original name Shristhanak. It means where a place Ganapati settle. The word Sthanak has been converted to thane. 




Titwala :

Titwala is having 45 km away from Thane district. Titwala is as considered as sacred pilgrim spot whereas Maha Ganesh Temple as wells as Shri Vithoba temple these two shrines are located in Titwala. The beautiful temples of Titwala, its taking back to the 11th century has being dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple was being built in ‘Hemadpanti’ style of architecture in black stone. 



Kashi Mira :

Kashi and Mira are two separate villages and it is located in Thane taluka close to each other. The environment of these two villages abounds in greenery with natural beauty and scenery. It is just after leaving the Dahisar check-post, is an open location with the background of beautifull hills with zigzag roads leading up the hills. It is this flushy background that has connect and given the name "Kashimira". 

Kalyan:

Kalyan has always been carried an important place for history of Maharashtra. Today, Kalyan has a main railway junction and there are rice mills industry and making spare parts of car factory. Kalyan was occupied by the a muslim state named as Bijapur sultanate in the 1500s and after that Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, who firmed the city in the mid 1600s.

Shirdi, Pillgrimage center for Sai Baba's devotees


Shirdi is a small village, which is situated at Ahmednagar district of state of Maharashtra, it is on the way between Ahmednagar - Manmad highway. The overall population is approximately 15000 of this silent place of Shirdi. It has around 307 KM on direction of north-east of Mumbai city and 6 hr drive from Mumbai. Devotees of this shrine place sometimes crosses maximum 30000 marks as well as it has earns the major part of its income from tourists.

This holy place is a home to a great saint Sai Baba, he was spends here near about eighty years of his life before he was dying in 1918. This village Shirdi is very small and is of just 2 Sq km. It is basically a pilgrimage center. There has one main street and the road is full of narrow lane which has full covered with small shops, most of them shops have selling material that is needful at the Shirdi temple. 





Sai Baba:

Long time ago, at the early eighteenth century a young bearded man, who is known as Sai Baba, with bright eyes took shelter in a mosque, in Shirdi Village in state of Maharashtra, India. Nobody knew from where this stranger had come who hardly spoke a word and stayed there. 



Sai Baba was strongly believed in equality of religion and he never had distinguished anyone on the basis of caste, community or religion. He always made it a point not to back empty handed those who had come to Sai Baba in their hour of need and grief. He performed miracles to reduce the suffering of poor people. On one occasion he restored the eyes of a blind elderly and on another occasion he was been lighted a lantern with water when there was no oil to burn it.

As all good things have to end ultimately "Sai Baba" also left his a body on his own will dated on 15th Oct. 1918, leaving his millions of believers and all was crying. His body was laid in the Samadhi Mandir, it is known as "Booty", which he had asked his pupil to built before his death.
