Wine capital city, Nashik

Nashik is the city a located in the northwest of Maharashtra state. The Nashik city is approximately 180 KM from Mumbai and 202 KM from Pune city. It is one of the holiest Hindu cities from state of Maharashtra, India. Nashik is situated at the bank of Godavari River, it has making the holiest cities for Hindu across the world. It is become the center of attraction because of its beautiful surroundings and pleasant and cool climate.

Kumbhmela is held here in Nashik once after 12 years along with four other cities such as Haridwar, Ujjain, Allahabad and Nashik in India. Lord Rama along with Lakshmana and Sita spent 14 years of his exile at Tapovan and it is near of Nashik. At the same place of Tapovan, Lakshmana cut off the nose of Shurpnakha, she was the sister of Ravana and after that this place was named as "Nashik".

Nasik is also famous for growing Grapes, it is major fruit from Nashik. In Nashik city has many wine companies are growing, it is also popular as wine city of Maharashtra state. The great India’s Freedom fighters like Veer Savarkar and Anant Kanhere were born land of Nashik. Dadasaheb Phalke was from the Nashik and he was also started his work from Nashik and he was the founder of Indian movie.

Today Nashik is considered as one of the rapidly growing industrial city in state of Maharashtra with Wine Park Zone, Information Technology (I.T.) Park, Educational Hub, as well as Best Tourist center of India.

Attraction in Nashik

Trimbakeshwar Temple: It is situated at the distance of 30 KM away from the city of Nashik nearby Bramhgiri, where the Godavari river flows. Godavari is also called as Gautami Ganga and it is the most holy river in South India.

Sita Gufa: The Gufa means cave is near of five Banayan trees in Panchavati. This Gufa was the idol of Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshmana. Every one can enter into the cave with the help of narrow stairs. On the left side of cave, one can enter in to having Shiva Linga. The history says about this cave, Sita was kidnapped by Ravana at this place. 

Ramkund: Ramkund was named because Lord Rama was believed has taken bath here. It has given other name as Gandhi Memorail. It is located at the near of Gandhi Lake, having memorable monument was made throughout the white marble in the memory of “Mahatma Gandhi” father of nation.
