Green City of India, Nagpur


The orange city, Nagpur is vocational and panic city. It is third largest city of Maharashtra State after Mumbai and Pune and another important thing is that Nagpur is second capital city of Maharashtra. It is located at geographical center in Map of India and it has largest city in center of India. Nagpur is very famous for orange growing, it derives its nick name as “Orange city” of India. Nagpur region is also popular for Tiger land of Maharashtra state.

Nag River is famous of Nagpur and it flows through the old city of Nagpur. It gives the city name as Nag+Pur (Nagpur). It is second ranking on greenest city as well as it is most clean city of India. The folks of Nagpur are called as Nagpurkar and the mother tongue is Marathi, but here in Nagpur most of the peoples talk in Hindi and English. 




History:

Nagpur was installed in the early 18th century by Bhakt Buland, who was the Gond Prince of Deogad Kingdom, in Chhindwara district. He wanted to some lifestyle changes in Nagpur after saw the advantage of descent life of Delhi.

Raghuji Bhosale was Maratha governor of Berar and he tried to restore his elder son on throne. After that Nagpur city slowly went to Maratha from the Gonds, later the orange city was became the capital of Bhosales. But, Bhosales was lost the city to British and Nagpur came under the British effect in 1817. Nagpur enjoyed the respect of a capital city of the Central Provinces of India in 1861.

How to reach by Air:

Orange city has an international airport its name is Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport. It is approximately 6 KM away from city center of Nagpur. The airport handles 6 domestic airlines and only an international airline linking Nagpur to Sharjah as well as 12 domestic destinations.
